The World Needs More Entrepreneurs*
*No, the world doesn't need more people putting "entrepreneur" in their Instagram bio.
*No, the world doesn't need more "entrepreneurs" that talk about things that they have no experience in.
*The world needs more entrepreneurs that are knowledgeable and passionate.
Those are the ones that set the world on fire.
The world needs more entrepreneurs that are knowledgeable and passionate. Those are the ones that set the world on fire.
So when I talk about entrepreneurs, I'm referring to the trailblazers and future trailblazers.
And if you don't know whether your personality is similar to other successful entrepreneurs, then you may want to take this 5-question quiz to find out.
Now let's get more specific about the importance of entrepreneurship...
It can really be boiled down to two simple facts:
1) Entrepreneurs impact the world
2) Entrepreneurs become incredible people
These two facts are founded in the principle that it takes a lot of hard work to become a successful entrepreneur. In other words, entrepreneurs have to earn the right to impact the world and only incredible people can do that through hard work.
And this hard work has to be fueled by an unstoppable passion.
Where does the passion come from?
Glad you asked...
Thinking about becoming an entrepreneur?
Entrepreneurs Impact the World
Every type of successful entrepreneur has one thing in common -- they are successful because they solve a problem for others.
Think about it.
As consumers, we spend most of our money on things that make our lives easier or better. For example, your phone makes it easier to communicate with people that are far away (I'm not sure if I can imagine life without a phone).
Therefore, an entrepreneur who sells something that makes a lot of people's lives easier or better can have a major impact on the world.
It's just a matter of spotting the need that people have and then creating the solution.
Simple concept, right?
Well the execution isn't so simple.
Ironically, a lot of entrepreneurs face a ton of obstacles and resistance when trying to help the world.
Heck, even Henry Ford faced resistance:
If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.
Henry Ford
So how do you handle resistance like this?
The answer gets me back to passion.
If an entrepreneur doesn't have true passion in their mission to help others, then the possibility of burning out and giving up is exponentially higher.
Luckily, a lot of people want to make an impact on the world!
I collected data from this entrepreneurial community after asking them what was most important to them -- becoming famous, helping people, becoming wealthy, or changing the world.
Here are the results:
As you can see, the largest portion (about 44%) of this community wants to change the world.
That's terrific!
And while "helping people" may seem similar to "change the world," I think that is an important distinction. Instead of primarily focusing on helping individuals at a small scale, people are more passionate about making major changes to the world around them.
Just look at entrepreneur Elon Musk. He's planning on further impacting the world by giving free WiFi to everyone. This plan will apparently cost at least $10 billion.
Talk about game changer!
If everyone had access to the unlimited information on the Internet, then the world would advance at an even faster pace (plus... more memes!).
Anyways, this helps to illustrate that entrepreneurs are critically important to the world we live in. The world has problems and entrepreneurs are here to fix them.
But how does an entrepreneur do that?

Entrepreneurs Are Incredible People
If you want to change the world and make an impact, then the FIRST thing you should be doing is growing your skill set.
This is why all of the most-successful entrepreneurs are the top experts in the fields.
Therefore the concept is really straight forward -- you have a duty to yourself to learn now so that you can help others later.
As a result, you should be bettering yourself as you attempt to better the world.
Talk about a win-win situation!
This requires you to spend the time and energy to become knowledgeable in your field. If you don't take the time to develop any skills, then you there's no chance you'll be able to make an impact.
It's a lot like if you see someone drowning in the pool and you don't know how to swim... Yet, instead of getting help from someone else, you try to save that person yourself.
Then you have two drowning people in a pool.
So learn to "swim" before you try to make an impact on the world.
Trust me, the rest of the world will be grateful that you did.
Let's be real, if entrepreneurs like you aren't going to save the world, then who else will?
